Can anyone help make a definitive identification of or have a family history for William Davenport, otherwise proved son of Richard Davenport of Albemarle County, Virginia. William was born c1768 in Albemarle, was in Mercer County, Kentucky, by the early-to-mid 1790s. He was back in Virginia in the late 1790s, may have remained there for a few years, then back to Kentucky. He appears to have tried to settle in Indiana in the 1810s, but ran into opposition to his owning slaves, chose to return to Kentucky | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
