I am searching for my Galbreath ancestors, but am having trouble. I know that William Galbreath B: bet. 1822-1826 in PA D: bet. 1871-1880 in IN. He married Julia or Juliet Reed between 1848-1850. Julia was B: 1828 D: 1905 both in IN.They had at least 5 children. Problem is as some of those children got older they changed last name to Gill. I know that there was a son named William Perry Galbreath, who done a lot of trading under the name Perry Gill. At least one of William Perry's descendants officially changed his last name to Gill when he went to apply for Social Security and found out his number was issued under the name Galbreath. I know that the spelling for this last name can also be Gilbreath. Any help would be appreciated. Would really like to know the story behind the name change. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
