Whiteley or Whitely/Jones My g-g-grandmother was Mary Elizabeth Whitely, daughter of George Washington Whitely and Caroline Jones. It's really not much of a problem finding info on the Whitelys, but finding information on Caroline Jones, and on my g-g-grandmother Mary E. Whitely is proving to be a much tougher task. GW Whiteley was b. in 1829 AL and d. in 1863 Monroe, LA (Civil War). Caroline Jones was b. in 1831 TN, and we lose track of her after the 1870 census. They lived in Osage, Carroll County (1850), and Osage, Newton County (1860). Caroline is again found in Osage, Newton in 1870. We believe her brother may have been James L. Jones b. abt. 1835 AR, d. in CA. We think it is he who appears in War Eagle, Van Buren in 1850.
