Adopted name: Paula Jean West Adopted by Paul and Doris West of New Brighton in September of 1955--a few days after my birth on 9/14/1955 Looking for my birth mother-Lydia XXXXXX--originally from Patterson Heights in Beaver Falls, PA I was born in Beaver Valley General Hospital on September 14, 1955. My birth-mother's first name was Lydia. She was a 16 year old girl at the time (probably putting her birthyear as about 1939 making her about 68 years of age now), the oldest of six siblings who lived on Patterson Heights in Beaver Falls, PA. Her mother had just died within the last year, leaving she and her father to take care of her younger 5 bothers and sisters. She told the nurse on the hall, Ruth Funkhouser, that she could not take care of this baby because she had to help her father raise her 5 other brothers and sisters. The man who was my father had denied paternity. My birth mother was described (by the nurse Ruth Funkhouser) at that time as about 5'7" in height with brown hair, Protestant, Caucasian of Scots/Irish ancestry and the thing that really struck the nurse was how nice she was. She was very concerned about her Dad and the raising of the five other brothers and sisters. The only thing that the nurse does not remember was my birth mother's last name. Any help out there?
