Looking for information on George Washington Tanner. Sarah Louise (Louizer) Womack (born October 31, 1860; died Dec. 23, 1931)married George Washington Tanner (date of birth unknown; died July 11, 1943). Both are buried in Mt.Vernon Cemetery, Dekalb County Alabama. They had 5 daughters: Mattie, Mollie, Bertha, Leola Jane, and Beulah. They were born 1878 - 1895. George and Sarah lived in the Lathamville area then later on to the Lookout Mountain area. Martha “Mattie” Elizabeth Tanner born 1878 married Joe David Mason. Her children were: Alex, William, Lavier, Ozar Hunter, Mary Holmes, and Annie. Mattie died at age 26 in 1904. Mary Frances “Mollie” Tanner born 1880 married first J.V. “Jim” Bouldin; they had daughter Lillie. Mollie married second John William “Will” Daniel. Their children were: Nina Estell Nelson, Mary Magdalene Whitt Pierce, Della Bishop, Willie Tyler, Docia Briny, Ida Paulene Duncan Walker, Bessie Lee Wood Blue Campbell, Ethel, Clara Louise Barkley, Bertha Nell Mitchell, James Elmus, and Sarah Garrison. Mollie died at age 93 in 1973. Lougenia “Bertha” Tanner born 1882 married Rev. Daniel S. White. Her children were: Annie, Eamley, Alma, Ruby, Erlin, Arlin, Lonnie, Audrey and Bessie. Bertha died in 1983 at age 100. Bessie married Rev. Johnny Painter from near Crossville. There children were: Wayne, Donald, Durice (James), Colyan, Gwendolyn, and Gale. Leola Jane Tanner born 1887 married Ernest Glenn Turner. Her children were: Alva, Junior, Muriel, Thelma Parris, Lovell Brock, Eva Parris, Zellamae Jurnak, Verlie D., Ida, Ernest Lee, and Albert Zennith. Leola died in 1970 at age 83. They are buried in West Point cemetery near Jacksonville, Alabama. Flora Ann “Beulah” Tanner born 1895 married Walker Gregory. Her children were: Pluma Reagan and Ishmel D. Beulah died at age 97 in 1992. She is buried in the Mt. Vernon cemetery. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
