I am researching Carlisle surname. There are various spellings of this name: Carlile, Carlyle, Carlisle. I have been told that the name is listed in several cemeteries in England two of which are: Westminister Abbey and Grasmere Abbey. I have not seen these. If anyone has access to the info from any of these gravesites I would appreciate the information. I understand that some of the Carlisle's origin was Scotland. If anyone has any info or direction for me to pursue for Scotland I would appreciate this info as well.
