I am looking for anyone who knew my father or kin. His name was Sam P. Lachney, Jr. He was raised in a Catholic Orphanage in Marksville, Louisiana. I know that he had biological family. I am not sure if that is the name he was born with. He was born in the middle to late 1920"s. I vaguely remember that he had to do a legal name change because of a misspelled name. I think that the last name was originally spelled Lacheney. I beleive he attended Menard High School in Alexandria for a brief time and may have played football there. As a young child i remember visitors coming to see him, but they never came in the house. They would sit on the steps and talk in french. He joined the navy at an early age (possibly berfore 18).
