My paternal great grandparents were George MATEER and Margaret LUDLOW who emigrated from Scotland in 1856 and were living in Christian Co. when the 1870 census was taken. I am trying to learn more about them before this date. My grandfather was one of the younger children, William Andrew Mateer, b.1870. My maternal great grandparents were William Wallace ALEXANDER and Samantha WHEELER who came to Christian County from Indiana in the late 1800s. I have a group picture of them and several of their children with spouses and grandchildren probably taken about 1920.
