My query is a two parter. First, I'm looking for information on my great uncle, Dr Edwin Charles LOOMIS. He married Ida May SANDERS 30 Jun 1892 in Kokomo, Howard, Indiana, but I know he lived and probably died in Vermillion County. Edwin was born 24 Jul 1845 in Andover, Tolland, Connecticut. Edwin's and Ida's children were: Lewis Edwin (1893-?), Bessie Helen (1894-?), Jacob Osmon (1897-1897), Norman Squire (1898-1977). Norman, I know, was born in Perrysville, died in Boca Raton, Palm Beach, Florida. As for the second part, my grandmother, Mary Emma LOOMIS ZANE, is said by my family to have been born in Eugene, Vermillion, Indiana. Indeed, some census records from Illinois say that. But the Loomis Book says she was born in Tuscola, Illinois. And Vermillion County didn't have a record of her birth (they even sent me a list of all the Loomises who WERE born there!) | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
