Howell, Barnes or Stonestreets in the Attala or Leake counties of MS. Looking for family connections. My grandfather was born in 1901, Rufus Howell and adopted to the Stonestreet family when he was a few months old. One of his sisters, Ruth, was also adopted to the McNeal family and married Alva Braswell. There parents (Rufus and Ruth) were Richard and Lou Howell. Their mother signed her marriage license as S. Lou Barnes. Lou died 6 days after my grandfather was born. Their father, Richard, I do believe was in Texas at the time of her death.
