ENNIS and O'CONNELL families of County Cavan - Trying to find the families of my great grandparents, ANDREW ENNIS and ANN O'CONNELL. Andrew and his sister, Mary, were both born around 1820, both left for the States in the 1840's and settled first in Rhode Island. There Andrew married ANN O'CONNELL, born 5 March 1825 in County Cavan. Mary Ennis married HUGH RILEY, also born about 1820. Both the RILEY and ENNIS families then moved to Richfield, Wisconsin. The Ennis family remained there, the Riley family disappeared and I'm wondering if some of their children may have returned to Ireland. The Riley children with approximate dates of birth were: Catherine (1847); Christopher (1849); Michael (1852); Hugh (1856); Mary (1858); Patrick (1860); twins Andrew Mathias (15 March 1863) and Hubert. The parents of Andrew and Mary Ennis may have been ANDREW and MARY ENNIS. In RHode Island Andrew and Mary Ennis lived near Bryan Ennis (born about 1810) who may have been a relative. ANN O'CONNELL's father may have been PETER and ANN O'CONNELL. Contact: snowcat4@worldnet.att.net | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
