My name is Debra Ann Lanham-Newhouse. My birthday is 6/16/1957. I just found out that I was adopted when I was 46 yrs. old. My adopted parents, Julius H. & Dorothy Allen Lanham (both now deceased), never told me I was adopted, and I never had a clue until I found some cards in my father's attic. I was born at Alexandria Hospital in Alexandria, Virginia; Dr. Thomas L. Lucas delivered me. A young woman who worked in his office is my Aunt and arranged for my mother to come from Florida to Virginia to have me. Evidently, my adoptive parents paid for the train ride to and from Florida and the hospital and doctor bills. Stated in the non-identifying information: I have a sibling older than I am, and that our real father didn't feel any responsibility toward us. Through research I found that my real name at birth was BABY GIRL WORKMAN, and that my real mother's name as stated in the attorney's papers was Patty Sue WORKMAN. ANY INFORMATION WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED! I want to know my real mother and family if they want to know me and my family!
