I am interested in the family of Georgia Alice McInnes est BD, Charleston, SC, Nov. 1901), who married John Albert Morris(BDm Sept 1, 1900 Eastport Maine). It appears Georgia Alice McInnes father was John B McInnes and est. birth year: abt 1869 in South Carolina, Home in 1910 was Charleston Ward 1, Charleston, South Carolina, and her mother was Lenoir Egan McInnes(est BD 1875). Lenoir died and was buried in Charleston. I no nothing of her father. In 1910, Georgia Alice McInnes(BD 1901) was 9, and she had three other siblings Barbara L McInnes who was 11(BD 1899), John L McInnes who was 15(BD 1895). Geogia McInnes went on to marry John Albert Morris( BD Sept 1, 1900, Eastport, Maine). I believe they met and courted, and possibly married in Charleston. Georgia Alice McInnes died in Dec. 1984, and buried in a family plot in Eastport Maine. Georgia Alice and John Albert had 5 children. John Albert Morris (BD, Bridgeton, NJ, Dec. 2, 1926)(-my dad) who was killed at 55, and Charles Edward, who also died a tragic death, and Barbara McInnes, also born in Bridgeton, NJ, and then two more children when they lived in San Palo,Brazil, Mary Elizabeth and Mayo Phillip. Georgia Alice and John Albert met and courted in South Carolina, Charleston. I know nothing about their courtship, and actually only recently learn of their names. John Albert Morris Jr. went to the Citadel because Col Myers who was a "relative" and a teacher at the Citadel. My mother, reports that Col. Frances Myers was perhaps a uncle. I am looking for the connection. My dad, John Albert Morris went to the Citadel, in Charleston in 1948 as a vetern. He enlisted in the Arm about 1944, and discharged First Lieutenant in March of 1948. My mother insists that Col. Frances Myers was related to Georgia McInnes, and my father John Albert Morris, and this is why he got into the Citadel, and went there before Med. School. I contacted Col. Myers daughter Lois Jervey (who is 90), and is unsure of the connection, and thought a McBride may be the connection. I am trying to find the relationship between my father John A Morris Jr, and Mr. Col.Carl Francis Myers, through his mother Georgia Alice McGinnis. Mr. Myers had a daughter, Lois who states it may have something to do with the McBrides. Anyhelp would be appreciated. Thank you. Shannon Morris Sako4@adelphia.net S | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
