I am looking for info on George W. LANEY (b. <1834, IN). He was married to Harriet Minerva WOOD on 30 May 1861, Parke County, IN. They had two children; Harriett Ellen LANEY (b.3 Apr 1862 in Terre Haute, IN) and John LANEY (b.21 Dec 1866 in South Bend, IN). In the 1870 census he has a different wife, Cynthia Elizabeth and the above children and a son, Reuben, 1 year. I know this family moved to Nevada, Vernon, MO when John was a young child. And then the family moved to Greenfield, Dade County, MO. Harriett Ellen married George Eli Preston FENTON on 1 Apr 1880. John married Ellen FREEDLE on 1 Dec 1887. I have a picture of George W. LANEY circa 1903 so I know he was alive after 1900. His daug. Harriett Ellen FENTON and family lived in Sandstone (Montevallo), Vernon, MO area when my grandfather was young (1900's). I don't know when George W. LANEY died or where. I also believe he served in the Civil War from IN (possibly the Clay County Indiana 43D Regiment). Can anyone help? | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
