I am a 39 year old woman who was born May 7, 1967 At the Welch Emergency Hospital in Welch, W.Va. I believe my birth mother was Martha Jewell(age 22) and her parents may have been Alex and Lovie Jewell. I was in foster care from a few days old until December of 1967. I was made a ward of the state in October of 1967. From research I have done I believe my birth mother was incarcerated at the timeof my birth and planned to take me back but for some reason she was unable to. She was from a large family, including brothers. I would like to recieve any information possible on my birth family. From what I have read I resemble her. When I was taken to foster care I was wearing handmade clothing that my foster parents say showed the love of the mother for me. The social worker who met with my birth mother also stated the love of my birth mother for me. I do not want to intrude on anyone's lives I just want to learn my past and history. My birth mother was 22 years old, 5'9", medium brown curly hair, and an eighth grade education and in good health. My birth name was Sandra Jewell. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
