I have a letter written to my granddad, Fred (Mourer) Mowrer (Tuscarawas County, OH), from Harold W. Mowery Sr.(Cragmere Park,Mahwah, NJ) in 1961. Mr. Mowery stated being a distant cousin to Fred. He outlined Fred's lineage to the original pioneer. Mowery, in 1961, was 78 yrs. old and stated he spent decades researching family and was attempting to make a full compilation before he died.
