Looking for information on William Goff born approx 1856 in Georgia. Mother may be, Mary born approx 1838 in Georgia. found on 1860 census...Lived in Newton Ga in 1860 Census age 6 with Mary, who was age 22. Looks like many people at this address so maybe an apartment, or farm. NO father listed. William may have lived in Irwin Ga in 1870 Census at age 16. says parents are foreign born on this Census. I could be barking up wrong tree altogether. My William married Mary A. ? born 1855 in Georgia. Children are Nora (marrid Hammack), b 1882, Ga; Carl Jerome b. 1884 Ga; Harriet (married Speegle) b 1887 Al. (my great-grandmother); Homer Baxter b. 1894 cullman, Al; Thomas Dewey b.1898, Al.
