August W. Quedeweit b.16Aug1860 in Tilsit, East Prussia, Germany (from his OH Death Certificate). He immigrated to Dayton, Montgomery Co., OH, married Johana Balzer, and died there leaving apparently the only Quedeweit family in the USA. Are there currently Quedeweit or similar spelling in the Sovetsk area? Do others in the world who’s ancestors did not live in Dayton, OH, USA share the name? The name appears to be unusual and almost unique to the Tilsit area.
