I am trying to trace my great grandfather Joseph Sylvester Boggess (dob 1861, of Raleigh County, WV?)who married Alice Edwina Shaffer (of Nicholas County, WV?) and settled in Meadowfork, Fayette Co, WV. He was connected with the mines. I believe his parents were Samuel T. and Mary C. Boggess but cannot find any definitive info on their births, deaths, marriage, or other children.
