Searching for others researching the Delaware Fleetwood family. I am descended from Jeremiah/Jermiah M.(Morrow?) Fleetwood, b. Dec. 1848, DE; d. aft. 1930, DE, and would like to hear from others researching his wives, descendants, and, especially, his parents. +++++ Here is an outline of what I know thus far: +++++ Jeremiah was married twice. +++++ His first wife was Susan Catharine Scott, b. Feb. 11th, between 1851 and 1862 (birth year records vary wildly!). +++++ They had seven children: (1) Wm. H., b. 1871-73, DE; (2) Geo. A., b. 1876-77, DE; (3) James, b. Aug. 1879, MD; (4) Ida May, b. Sep. 5, 1880, Milford, DE; d. May 29, 1943, Milford, DE; (5) Minnie, b. Apr. 17, 1884, DE; d. Jul 21, 1957, Milford, DE; (6) Elizabeth "Lizzie", b. Mar 1889, DE; d. 1911; (7) Harry Benjamin, b. May 23, 1891, Milford, DE; d. Jan 17, 1968, Sussex Co., DE. +++++ He left his first wife to be with a young widow and her daughters. It is unclear when -- or whether -- he and she formally married. They were listed in census reports as married through 1920 -- in the same census reports where his first wife was also listed as married. His first wife's death certificate finally listed her as a widow even though Jeremiah was living. +++++ Jeremiah's second wife was Zabra Nora (nee unknown) Outten, widow of Thomas Outten. Thomas (b. 1856-7, DE; d. 1894) and Zabra Nora (b. Mar. 1863, DE) had four daughters: (1) Nancy C., b. Jan 1880, DE; (2) Martha E., b. Aug. 1881, DE; (3) Georgeanna, b. Apr. 1886, DE; and (4) Wilhelmina, b. May 1889. +++++ In 1900 Martha, Georgeanna, and Wilhelmina were living with their mother and Jeremiah/Jermiah Fleetwood and were listed as his daughters (not as his step-daughters). +++++ Jeremiah/Jermiah and Zabra Nora had two children: (1) Raymond Washington, b. Jul 12, 1898, Sussex Co.,DE; d. Apr. 1987, prob. Dover, Kent Co., DE. (2) Mary Fleetwood, b. April 1900, MD. +++++ Based on little evidence other than documentedly incorrect family Bibles, Jeremiah/Jermiah's father's given name may have been William or Curtis Fleetwood. +++++ One of his children (Harry Benjamin - nicknamed "Mike") is buried in Blades, Sussex Co., DE, in a cemetery which has a number of other Fleetwood burials. Harry (Mike's) relationship to the other Fleetwoods is not known.
