Looking for info on Amos Cox who is buried at Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Jefferson County. He married Lucinda Brooks on 2 Jul 1879. According to the census and his military papers, they had three children: Ernest Elvin, Dale Collier and Eva May. According to the Amos Cox of an appropriate age that I can find on the census, his parents were William Cox and Margaret Rush. The "oldtimers" at Mt. Moriah had no knowledge of him or his descendants and could not connect him to my Cox line. My info comes from census listings and his military papers for the Civil War. I am trying to establish his lineage so that I can sort out a William Cox who is a sibling of one of my ancestors. Any help you can give would be appreciate. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
