Query Text: |
I am researching my ancestor Jacob W. SALLADAY, born about 1730 in VA or PA, died about 1831 at Buffalo, Guernsey Co., OH. He married Ann SECREST in 1819, probably in VA. They moved to Ohio after they married, and eventually owned a 1,000-acre plantation in Guernsey Co. I believe Jacob W.’s father’s name was John, who could be a brother of the Philip SALLADAY who was a pioneering settler of Scioto Co., OH. Jacob W. and Ann’s son Jacob SALLADAY married Mary Anne SECREST in 1864 in OH. After marrying, they moved to Assumption, IL, then to Carthage, MO, then Fulton, CA, and finally to Ellensburg, WA. They had nine children; George Washington SALLADAY is my great-grandfather (he married Othelia Frances HABERMAN). I would be happy to share what information I have. Locations: Buffalo, Guernsey, OH Ohio Scioto Co, OH Assumption, Christian, IL Illinois Carthage, Jasper, MO Missouri Fulton, Sonoma, CA California Ellensburg, Kittitas, WA Washington VA Virginia PA Pennsylvania Surnames: SALLADAY (also: SALADAY, SALADY, SALADA, SALADE, SOLLIDAY, SOLLODAY) SECREST (also: SECRIST, SEGRIST, SIEGRIST) HABERMAN (also: HABERMANN) | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
