My mother Mary Haddad told me before she died that I was adopted. My birth mother was Emily (McDowell) Smith, she already had one son Christopher Smith, who was born in 1942. I was born August 24, 1945, at Saint Elizabeth's Hospital in Brighton (Boston) Massachusetts. Emily knew the Haddads and she gave me to them after we left the hospital.
