Query Text: |
My father was Arthur Hubback who was Government Architect for Malaya, from 1900 till 1914. He designed The Secretariat and Railway station in K.L. also the Jaime Mosque, and many other buildings all over the country. His brother , my Uncle was Theo Hubback who was well known as a big game hunter, but became an ardent conservationist, using the camera instead of the gun. My mother's brother was Arthur Voules whi was Resident of Penang. I have a good deal of information about all of them but would like to hear from anyone who might know anything more about them. Also I would like to hear from anyone who knows anything about James ans Susan Minchin, daughter of Peter Cherry of Madras, who lived in India, mostly Madras or Calcutta. They were married in 1821 in Madras, and had 14 children! They eventually retired to Devon, to a house called Hamslade House which I thunk is still there, in Oakford, Devon near Tiverton. My grandmother was their youngest daughter called Frances Cotton Minchin, and married my grandfather Sir Gordon Voules. I should love some more information about them. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
