• Around 30-35 years ago, I bought a photograph album with a lot of images of the COX and Allied families (GETTS, MORTORFF, ROSE, SNIDER, WILSEY & WING). From my research these all seem to be descendants of WILLIAM and NANCY (VanAUKEN) COX. William & Nancy lived in PA, OH & IN. Whomever the album belonged to originally was very good about labeling their pictures. It is thanks to their diligence that I was able to pull together some background information on the subjects pictured. • The 1860 Census of Smithfield Twp., DeKalb Co., Indiana, lists WILLIAM & NANCY COX and their 11 children: Simeon J., 24 (married); Benjamin O., 22; Otis, 21; W.H. (male), 19; Sarah A., 16; Miles J., 14; Harriett E., 12; Isaac, 9; Catherine, 6; Caroline, 4 and Mary J., 1 • Currently I have 11 different eBay listings revolving around pictures of the children and grandchildren of William & Nancy (VanAuken) Cox. The specific families covered are those of SIMEON COX, BENJAMIN O. COX, SARAH A. (COX) MORTORFF, HARRIET E. (COX) WILSEY, ISAAC NEWTON COX & CATHERINE (COX) GETTS.
