Hi, I'm looking for information about living descendants of my relatives who lived in Allegheny, PA (which is now Pittsburgh, PA). In summary four Eckert brothers emmigrated to the US abt. 1850 (English Names in brackets): Johannes Georg (George) Eckert (* Dec 13, 1822) Johannes Leonhard Eckert (* Jan 29, 1828) Adam Peter Eckert (* Dec 23, 1829) and Andreas (Andrew) Eckert (* Jul 16, 1834) I already located the descendants of George Eckert, as my family kept contact to this line of the Eckerts until the early 1960s. Due to this letter exchange and some census record research there is some information about the other three brothers. J. L. Eckert (a cattle dealer) must have died before 1880, as his wife Cathrine in the 1880 census already was married to George Rummell. From the three sons and one daughter she had born to her first husband, in 1936 at least one son and the daughter Katie (born 1866) were still alive. Adam Peter Eckert moved to Missouri later on with his wife and hat at least 5 sons and 2 daughters from this marriage. One of them was alive in 1936 and lived in Iowa. Adam Peter Eckert married a second time, but I don't know if there were any children. Andreas (Andrew) Eckert moved to Quincy, Illinois with his wife Anna M. Eckert and had the children Emma (*1864) and Oscar (*1868). Perhaps anyone has information about those Eckerts, it would be nice if anybody could help me! Thanks! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
