I am searching for the family of Edward Simmons who died at Duck Ponds, South Australia in 1870. He was married to Maria Babstock in 1859, some 6 years after his arrival. He arrived in steerage on the 'William Stewart' with a D. Simmons who is as yet unidentified. It is almost certain that he was born in or left Cornwall to imigrate. His estimated year of birth was 1820. Who was D. Simmons and why was he so slow to marry ? Was he married in England ? Did he hav e siblings ? Who were his parents ? Marriage certificate only states 'full' for age and does not say 'widower, batchelor etc' | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
