I am seeking information about Rebekka Jensen. Her father was Hans Jensen and her mother was Maren Sorensen. Rebekka was born in Copenhagen and was one of 9 children. Her siblings included: Dagmar, Peder, Hans, Waldemar, Frederick, Viggo, Rosalia, and Eigel. Maren, the mother, died in 1892 (reportedly of TB). Hans was a butcher and owned a pork processing plant. In 1892 he moved to Story City, Iowa. Some of the children had already moved to America--Peder came first in about 1883. All of the children seem to have started out in Story City, Iowa. Dagmar lived the rest of her life there (she married a man whose last name was Wiggins). Hans, husband of Maren, is buried in Story City, IA (d. 1921). By the early-mid 1890's all of the Jensen children had come to American, with many in Story City. Rebekka is included in a census record from that time period. However, she evidently moves back to Denmark within 2-3 years of coming to Story City. Apparently she got married. Perhaps to someone with the last name of Christensen or Christiansen. What happened to Rebekka? Do I have cousins in Denmark? <a href="http://cousinconnect.com/p/a/0/u/109337/">View my genealogy queries</a> | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
