Does anyone have knowledge of a pre-1900 community in McDowell County somewhere near Marion known as Mica? Possibly near North Cove area. (Not Micaville in Yancey County that's near Burnsville). Two separate WWI draft registrations list birthplace as Mica, NC. Birth information for one of those states that he was born in McDowell County near Marion. Also, the home a Civil War soldier of the 2nd NC was listed as Mica, NC. Any help greatly appreciated. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
