Query Text: |
I'm looking for a certain John Jones who is said to have died in oct 1998. the family folklore is that he was run over by a train near Belt, Montana. The Belt Valley Times newspaper for Sep-Nov 1898 had no mention of such an accident. however, I did find reported the death of a Jack Jones in the Belt Valley Times 0ct 27. Jack could be a nick name. According to the article he had lived in Riceville and worked as a section man on the rail road. Apparently he had gotten drunk In Belt, started walking home and fell down near some sulfur fumes and suffocated. None of his family was contacted. I don't know in which cemetery he would have been burried and I'm not too familiar with the area. Any help or suggestions you could offer would be greatly appreciated. Other information which may be helpful: John Jones was born in Carmarthen, Wales about 1854 to John Jones and Susanna Titus. He immigrated to America around about 1880. I don't know if John ever married. He also had a brother called Evan who lived in Logan, UT. any other sources or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Any ideas please let me know. Thank you, Joseph | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
