We are trying to discover & prove the parents of John L. Clark, b. 26 Mar 1784 in Connecticut, m. Jane Sophia Clark (abt. 1819), d. 8 Apr 1835 in Naples, Ontario Co., New York. Buried in Fairview Cemetery in Naples. Father of 7: Calvin E. Clark, Lucy L. Clark, Olive P. Clark, Luther Brown Clark, Jane Rebecca Clark, Martha Jeanette Clark, Nancy J. Clark. John L. Clark's Will has Lorenzo Clark & Griffin C. Sabin as Executors. Could Lorenzo Clark be a younger brother? Griffin Sabin is twin brother of his wife, Jane Sophia Sabin (their parents are Huram Sabin & Olive Cleveland). Lorenzo Clark is believed to be the son of Col. William Clark (William also buried in Fairview Cemetery), but have not found a "John" or "John L." shown as a brother to Lorenzo or son to William in records (SO FAR). We are also trying to determine what the "L." stands for. Many land records/deeds show John L. Clark did business with many of Col. William Clark's sons. Any assistance in this discovery would be greatly appreciated!!! We live in the Kansas/Missouri area and are not able to get back to NY to do 'on site' research. THANKS! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
