Seeking info on descendants of James Barnes who lived in MD, traveled Bedford Co., PA, Washington Co., MD, and died in Nelson Co., KY. in late 1795. James' children who traveled to KY. were Samuel, Elijah, Jemima and Archibald. 1. Samuel Barnes (b. Md. ca. 1776) m. Lydia Willcocks. Lived just west of Bardstown, KY. chidren; James Barnes, John Barnes, Reason Barnes m. Dunn, Thomas Barnes, Robert Barnes, Samuel Barnes, Talbott Barnes. Three children; William Barnes, Betsey Barnes m. Mr. Braden, Sally Barnes m. Mr. Norris, died before their father. 2. Elijah Barnes (1777-1845) m. Lydia's sister Rachel Willcocks. Lived just west of Bardstown, KY. chidren; Samuel R. Barnes d. in MS. in 1839 and left son Edwin F. Barnes; Nancy Barnes m. James Brown and later lived in Meade Co., KY.; William Barnes; James B. Barnes lived in Larue Co., KY.; Gideon Barnes m. Elenor Vowles and lived in Nelson Co., KY.; Armstead Barnes m. Elizabeth Dowell and lived in Meade Co., KY.; Elizabeth Barnes m. Hugh Varner Rachford and lived in Larue Co., KY. 3. Jemima Barnes (b. MD.) m. James Hamilton, Jemima later lived in Nelson Co., KY. 4. Archibald Barnes (b. ca. 1787 MD.) m. Sally Atherton. They lived in Hardin Co. later becomes Larue Co., KY. Children; Abel Barnes m. Devers, daughter m. Mr. Dewitt.
