I'm doing research on my grandfather, who supposedly died in Council Bluffs 19 May 1943 (he was born there in May 1891, to Enoch and Sarah Esther (Martin) Gilinsky). Ben moved to Oregon as a young man, and had 5 sons, and was involved in boxing as a sideline occupation. He moved back to Council Bluffs after 1937, and was said to have married Lillian Poster. Unfortunately, Ben went thru life with different spellings of his name (Gillen, Gilinsky, Galinski...we don't know how many other versions). On the 1900 Census has name is Gilinsky. He had 5 brothers and sisters (we believe all stayed in Iowa)...Israel (Ike), Joseph (1930 was proprietor of a motor company in Council Bluffs) , Fanny, Samuel and Rebecca Reva. I have some inforation (limited) on his siblings...can find no record of his marrige or death in Iowa. Ben is listed in the 1941 city directory as Mgr, Can anyone help? I would like to fill out Ben's life, as well as Lillian Poster, and any other of his siblings. Thank You, Wilson Gilinsky | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
