Attempting to identify (5)slaves owned by RM Ewing 1860, Leon County TX. R. Monroe Ewing is listed with his mother Selana H Ewing in 1850. Selena own (1) slave age 27 in 1850. Ages of slaves owned by RM in 1860 27 M, 25 F, 8 F(mullato) 5 F, 4 M, 1 F. I believe that I can identify the 4 and 1 year old by name, because I have them with my family in 1870. The Ewings probably lived near the Rogers or the Quarles in Leon County. It looks as if the Ewings migraged from MO.
